Welcome to Kommandørgården

In the new national park of Denmark - Vadehavet - lies the island Rømø, which is connected to the mainland with a 10 km long dam. Rømø has a beautiful nature where dunes, beautiful plantations, moorland and wide beaches invites to amazing experiences, weather you go on foot, by bicycle or if you are going horseback riding.

The Hotel Kommandørgården is a cozy family owned hotel with 83 rooms, which are all located around the outdoor pool, and also 36 cottages. In addition there is a restaurant and a brasserie. Kommandørgården offers many types of holiday: Wellness- and ride stay, different hotelstays with accomodation, SC stays in apartments, cottages etc.

On Kommandørgården there is ample opportunity for relaxation and activity. Among others you can:

• Riding an icelandic horse on the widest beach i northern erurope
• Studying the ocean floor in the new National Park Wadden Sea
• Take a walk with Nordic walking on the many footpaths which criss-cross the island
• Fly off in a land yacht
• Enjoy the Roman and Turkish baths and get massages and beauty treatments
• Golf around - 1 km. away, where there is a links course
• Kids can frolic in the playground and in the indoor and outdoor pool

At out hotel you will find service orientated personnel, that is doing anything to make you feel welcome. We often say our hotel is a very international hotel - not only relating to our guests, but also to our staff. We have staff members from Germany, Holland, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Congo, Uganda and Island.

The hotel has been family property for more than 40 years now, and is now owned by the 2nd generation, Therese Thøgersen. Sometimes you can already see the 3rd generation help out, Amalie and Asbjørn Thøgersen.
