In November there are still migratory birds in the Wadden Sea and the wintering birds have arrived. The autumn months are often stormy on Rømø. As one of the islands furthest west in Denmark, this is often where the wind goes ashore at full strength. The wide beaches can be flooded if it has blown strongly from the west for an extended period of time, but if the beach is dry, there are really good opportunities to get wind in either a beach sailor or a kitebuggy.
